Farringford

Isle of Wight

Farringford House is a Grade 1 Listed building which was once the home of Alfred Lord Tennyson. The property consists of the main house (currently a hotel), parkland and gardens, a 9-hole golf course and some 30 cottages (used for holiday accommodation).

Kilburn Nightingale have drawn up a long-term Masterplan for the property and are undertaking a phased programme of works in site (which has included the refurbishment of a number of cottages, six of them designed by Clough Williams-Ellis). The ongoing work comprises the complete restoration of the historic house and the sympathetic development of the site as a whole, including the demolition of inappropriate and low quality structures and the insertion of carefully planned new buildings.
